Giuseppe paint over updated

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

I created an outline for him in Mental Ray. I guess it adds more depth to the shape and creats a better contrast with the environment (background). But… I am not really sure about this style.

Giuseppe 3d paint over

Friday, August 27th, 2010

I did quickly paint over my 3d rendering. The only 3d shaded things are the shoes and the trousers. The rest is added in Photoshop. I did this to develop the look for the 3d shading. I will try to reproduce this with Mental Ray.

Mafia WIP

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

I’ve began the modelling of the main character but it is still in progress. I also started a shader test for the 2d look. In the first place I used a simple Lambert. But the image below is a Maya Toonshader. I kinda like the result. Especially in the darker shadowed areas. But I don’t really like the handling and the usability. Maybe I’ll use the Lambert again.

eRig is the teaching rig for the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover.

In this early stage it has some lack of features. But the design of the rigging interface is very beginners friendly and I tried to demonstrate the usability with this simple walk.

Catwalk real stereoscopy

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

This is just another stereo test but this time with two cameras rendered in Mental Ray.

Catwalk stereoscopic fake

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

This was a short test in Nuke to fake a Anaglyph view via the Pulfrich effect. I created a time offset for the right eye by two frames to fake the perspective for that eye. I will post real stereo frames in near future.

I finnished the first scene. Here is an example how I organized the renderpasses for composeting. I only used a beauty, occlusion pass, motion vectors  and a lot of masks.

Some people asked for more making of stuff. Here’re some examples how I drew and organized the characters, buildings and props.
